| Assembly & Test Worldwide (ATW) is committed to building automated assembly, test and packaging equipment for its customers while meeting cost, delivery, quality and performance expectations. One of the keys to managing capital equipment projects is effective and proven project management. The ATW Project Management System has been developed by combining project management skills, techniques and tools from divisions within Assembly & Test Worldwide. The ATW project management system has been formalized in the form of the ATW Project Management Methodology. The methodology, developed by divisions with Assembly & Test Worldwide, includes key principles that have proven to be critical in successfully managing capital projects. By adopting and utilizing this project management methodology, Assembly & Test - Worldwide has successfully and continuously managed projects that exceed customer expectations. An effective project management system is built upon methodology, tools, techniques and people. Success is dependent upon the consistent integration and application of these items when executing the project order. The key to the ATW project management system is the people that work within the system. The tools, techniques and methodology are extremely important, but not as important as the people that work closely with the customer to deliver equipment that exceeds requirements. Successful project management involves balancing demands of time, cost, performance (technology), people and the customer to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations. Effective project management requires planning and control of time, cost and resources in delivering capital equipment to the customer. Project teams are utilized to execute all project orders. ATW project teams have the responsibility of executing project orders within the organization while ensuring the customer's expectations, specifications and needs are met. The project manager is the focal point for the customer and the organization. The project manager facilitates the flow of communication within the organization and to the customer. Communication to the customer includes regular status reports, project GANTT charts and progress reports. ATW's project managers and project teams are dedicated to executing project orders and are supported by the traditional functional departments within the division. |
